Financial Aid
Financial aid is a priority at Mustard Seed School and the school aspires to provide financial aid for all families that need assistance.
“At Mustard Seed School, my kids are part of a diverse community. Their friends come from many ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. While Mustard Seed School is a “private” school, it is not only for families of means. They especially welcome and provide financial aid for the children who need it the most. It is a place that mirrors the kingdom of God unlike any school I have ever seen.”
- Kim Kaufmann, Mustard Seed School Parent
Financial aid is a priority at Mustard Seed School and the school aspires to provide financial aid for all families that need assistance. Over 50% of the student body receives some form of financial aid. The school uses a third party, School and Student Services (SSS) to assist with evaluating need. To apply for financial aid, parents of both Mustard Seed and The Nest students should complete the process outlined below:
- Obtain the SSS form “Parent's Financial Statement” either by picking up a paper copy from the Mustard Seed School office or by going to the online version. Note: The school encourages parents to use the online option because it is cheaper and results in a quicker turn around time by School and Student Services.
- Complete the application, either on paper or online.
- Print a copy of the application to submit to Mustard Seed School.
- Submit the application, either on paper or online, along with the fee, to SSS. The cost of the online application is $35.00 using a credit card compared to $42.00 for the paper application.
If completing a paper copy of the application, please send to:

- Submit a copy of the application to Mustard Seed School, along with your most recent IRS Form 1040. Separated or divorced parents are required to submit a set of documents for each parent and a copy of all legal documents pertaining to the child custody and support agreements. Mustard Seed School must receive a copy of the application and all supporting tax documentation by February 15th or 2 weeks after the child evaluation, whichever is later.
- The processing agency, SSS, reports back to Mustard Seed School the information necessary for determining financial need.
- Mustard Seed reviews the SSS report and documentation, determines the financial aid package, and communicates to the family.
Note: SSS does not give any financial aid awards. Mustard Seed is able to provide financial assistance because of donations and grants that the school receives.
SSS does have information on the website to help Spanish-speakers.
