Next fall Emma will attend Saint Dominic Academy. She received a Sienna Scholarship and will be in the Honors program. What’s she looking forward to? Taking French. Meeting new friends. And reuniting with MSS alumni at St. Dom’s.
At Mustard Seed School, Emma appreciates that she’s been challenged. Learned to challenge herself. Served others. Discovered her creativity. Learned to take risks. She’s used all of these skills on lessons like the I LOVE Math Day problems that have required her to think outside the box.
Grateful for her teachers, Emma says that whenever she was stuck, MSS teachers were there to help her. She’s especially thankful for the creativity, passion, and free spirit of Ms. Decker. Ms. Decker took the time to understand Emma’s struggles. As a result, Emma felt free to be herself. To open up. Find her voice.
Outside of school, Emma enjoys taking taekwondo. Not only does she love learning self defense, she also feels her confidence growing. Her patience, too.
Emma’s thankful for all that she’s learned at MSS and will always remember the kindness of her teachers and friends.
MSS students learn to see themselves as part of a global community and act as compassionate advocates who learn from and serve with others in solidarity.
