Michael will attend St. Peter’s Prep next year as an Ignatian Scholar. He looks forward to studying biology, chemistry, and physics. Going on retreats and field trips. And he plans to audition for the VOX singing group.
At Mustard Seed, Michael has enjoyed language arts class. He enjoys uncovering the hidden meaning in books, and exploring the author’s intent. Michael’s such a fan of reading, in fact, that he attended a book club in a local bookstore. Even though he was the only student in a group of adults, he joined the group. This led to an internship at the store.
Michael says that Mustard Seed teachers are helpful and encouraging. He remembers that in fourth grade, he struggled to work through some math equations. His teachers showed him where he was making mistakes. How to fix them. Why the solutions worked. To this day, math may not always be his strongest subject, but Michael works hard and finds it interesting.
Music is an important part of Michael’s life. In the future, he hopes that he will change the world through making music. Connecting with people and sharing a message of acceptance and love. He’s a member of the Mustard Seed Chorus. The Vice Principal in the middle school PROS ensemble. And he enjoys listening to rock & roll and hip hop music. If he could attend any concert, he would go back in time and hear Freddie Mercury play with Queen.
His advice for younger students? Enjoy your Mustard Seed experience. It will go by fast.
