Mustard Seed’s 40th anniversary celebration continues! Forty years after the “first” first day of school, Mayor Bhalla and Freeholder Romano join the school community for opening day worship. They each brought a proclamation to recognize all that Mustard Seed has contributed to the community. Here’s a look at the morning in photos.

Mayor Bhalla especially recognized two of our co-founders, Shanna Pargellis and Joan Litman. We’re so grateful that both of them are still active as educators at Mustard Seed School. Ms. Pargellis is the Lower School Director and Ms. Litman is an Artist-in-Residence! Mr. Postema presented them with a birthday book for our school library, Madeleine L’Engle’s “The Glorious Impossible.”
As always, our eighth grade students received pins. The pins symbolize their position in the school as leaders and grant them special privileges.
Below are a few more photos from the morning. We’re looking forward to a great 41st year of inspiring minds, cultivating hearts, and removing barriers!
