The Board of Trustees and generous donors have established endowment funds to insure Mustard Seed is able to serve students — not just for a year, a decade, or a generation — but in perpetuity.
Funded primarily by donations, an endowment fund is an investment fund. The principal remains untouched, allowing the fund to have a greater impact over time. The money may be permanently restricted, temporarily restricted, or unrestricted in its use. This is based on the intent of a founding donor, or in the case of board designated funds, by a vote of the Board of Trustees.
Money held in endowment funds generates interest and dividend income that supports financial aid, programs, and other initiatives by providing an ongoing source of revenue. Endowment funds are critical to the long-term financial health of the school.
