Last week the middle school teachers thought and discussed about how we wanted to care for each other and our country on this inauguration day.
We read through a variety of resources. We found these two resources particularly interesting:
We decided that we would host two times of prayer and singing today. We have missed gathering in multi-grade groupings. And we are grateful for this time to gather and pray to God.
We will hear this prayer from The Book of Common Prayer.
Look graciously, Almighty God, upon this land.
Where it is in pride, subdue it.
Where it is in need, supply it.
Where it is in error, rectify it.
Where it is in default, restore it.
And where it holds to that which is just and compassionate, support it.
In your holy Name, we pray.
Amen
Together we will sing words of blessing.
In our 6-8 time, we will sing:
May God give you eyes to see
All that is good, all that is good
The courage for anything
May you be strong, may you be strong
or
In our 4&5 gathering, we will sing:
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!
Let it shine!
Let it shine!
