The Sky Class children have been excited about birds. This week they spent time looking closely at books about different birds found all around the world.
They noticed details of feathers, beaks, colors, body shapes, and wings.
The chose to draw…
a flamingo
a northern cardinal
a peacock
a rainbow lorikeet
a puffin
a cockatiel
a pigeon
a tufted coquette
I think this one is the boy and the other one is the girl because males attract females with color.
I like the red body. I saw a cardinal in my backyard!
It is finally time to add color to the bird observational drawings!
Using the techniques they learned while painting with watercolors, the Sky Class went back to the images they drew from to represent each bird.
I get to make the cardinal red! That’s my favorite color!
