We are fortunate to have two different learning platforms for fifth grade math.
When we’re learning and practicing math in school, we will use our rich Investigations curriculum. This is the normal fifth grade curriculum, and it will guide our units of study whether we are at home or away. We’ve got shelves of math tools ready to explore this year!
When we are at home, students will be practicing math concepts using the online platform Mathspace. This online tool includes textbooks, videos, and other tools to help students practice concepts. It gives immediate feedback to students as they work through practice problems, and it provides teachers with informative reports of student progress.
For the first couple weeks, fifth graders will be practicing exclusively on Mathspace. This will allow us all to become vary familiar with this platform so we can effectively use it to support learning all year.
Ask your child what interesting feature they discovered on Mathspace this week!
