Math Centers!

What’s happening in 5th grade math? On Thursdays and Fridays, we have math centers. Math centers provide an opportunity for students to practice and apply their skills and strategies. While students are engaged, teachers get a chance to work with a small group and meet individual needs of students.
As students practice their division skills and strategies (our current topic), students are able to review order of operations and multiplication skills through centers.
Math centers also allow students to process what they have learned, making sense of the content, as they can choose to work independently or with a partner.
Most importantly, students enjoy math centers and have fun through the activities and puzzles!
