Meet the Trees Class Bears!

October 13, 2021 | Sossi Essajanian

Since the bears joined the Trees Class, the children have used them in different ways. Bears have watched the children draw, been used as part of the play, or provided comfort when children have big feelings.

Bears can serve as transitional objects for children, too. They help them adjust to the routines of school by, for example, helping them shift attachment from caregivers to teachers.

There also is often an uncanny similarity between a child and their bear’s personality! Children may use bears as self-objects, exploring and representing themselves by giving their bear characteristics, likes, and dislikes, similar to their own.

Finally, bears can also act out common conflicts and model solutions.

Let’s meet the Trees Class Bear Family!
