In the Trees Class, children have been getting ready for the birth of Jesus by engaging in so many different experiences that help them become immersed in the story of Jesus and the spirit of offering to others.
During Advent worship, they have heard many stories of those who came before Jesus. They have made and added ornaments to the Jesse Tree to remember these stories.
Children have also been drawing Jesse Trees and Christmas-themed drawings.
They have shared how they have helped earn toddler items for our preschool service project.
A lot of gift-making and wrapping has been happening in the studio!
Children have painted angels to remind us of the importance of angels in the story of Jesus’ birth.
Listening to books and acting out the Christmas narrative with figures and in drama has been so fun!
We have practiced being sheep.
And singing like angels spreading our “glory” all around!
The children have practiced rehearsing telling the story without costumes…
and with costumes!
At last, it was time for us to share the story that the children now know so well.
It was a beautiful worship and the children did an amazing job of expressing the blessings of this season of Jesus’ birth.
Come and be born in our hearts!”
