Second and Third Grade students read the book Milo’s Museum, which tells of a girl named Milo who goes to a museum and does not see artifacts that look like her or tell her story. She goes on to make her own museum of objects that represent her life.
Our class decided to make our own museum of things that represent us. Take a look at the photos to see each person’s exhibit of items. Perhaps your child would want to tell something about each photo to review with you about one or two of each person’s artifacts!
Finally, we had a few adult visitors who were delighted to view children’s artifacts and listen to how they told the students’ stories.
It was such a positive experience and felt like a celebration at the end of the first week of school!
