What is Mathspace?

September 16, 2020 | Chloe Ko

Mathspace is an online program that is curriculum aligned, tracks student’s progress, and offers feedback on the math problems students solve.

This year’s fourth grade will be using Mathspace to supplement Investigations curriculum by Pearson. Here a few things I love about Mathspace:

  • Keeping Track of Student Activity
There are multiple ways to keep track of student activity whether it is on a simple graph or individual reports. This helps me to know what the student has mastered and has not. This will also help me form small groups.

  • Helpful ToolsThe lightbulb icon on the right offers a hint to help solve the problem, and the textbook icon offers a quick review of the content. These tools can help students when a teacher cannot answer their questions right away and encourage them to be their own problem solvers!

Along with Mathspace, students will also get to solve problems in their Investigations workbooks, use manipulative and complete project-based assessments throughout the year. I am excited to see our mathematicians grow as we explore new ways of learning math.
