If you’re a 4th or 6th grader in Ms. Wu’s Wellness class, then you would have heard the phrase,
“To care for others, start by caring for yourself.”
In 4-8th grade Wellness class, we have transitioned through a couple different themes:
Self Care, Empathy, Leadership, DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion)
Students have engaged in deep conversations about how to handle conflicts, how to take breaks appropriately, and how to better understand one another and our differences.
Students are practicing self care by drawing.
Students are doing full body exercises and noticing tension in their bodies.
Students are doing origami and writing short stories/poems.
Students wrote individual class commitments as well as a whole class commitment for self care.
At the end of each class, students reflect in their journals.
Students creating and leading their own Blooket (an online review game) to practice identifying emotions.
