In this worship theme, our focus is on growth and thankfulness for the life God gives us.
Continuing from our opening worship theme of the story of God’s Creation, now we hear stories from the Old Testament with trees that shelter or show God’s abundance and end with the parables Jesus tells about trees and the role of trees in the stories of Jesus’ life.
Each worship begins with the same opening sentence from Psalm 52:
I am like an olive tree
growing in God’s house
And I can count on His love
forever and ever.
And ends with a prayer taken from Psalm 19:
Let my words and my thoughts
be pleasing to you, Lord
because you are my mighty rock
and my protector.
Amen.
Special songs we learn in this worship theme include:
Your Word is a Lamp to My Feet
We Can Move a Mountain
